Your information stays yours.
This policy explains what the Campus Crush waitlist and closed beta collect, why it is needed, and how you can correct or delete it.
Last updated: 9 September 2026
What we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect your first or chosen name, private contact detail, college selection, interests, 18+ confirmation, contact consent, and the time you joined.
When you use the invite-only beta, we receive a stable account identifier and email from secure sign-in. We store the profile details you submit, such as display name, date of birth, identity choices, college, course, year, connection goals, intentions, interests, bio, written prompt answers, optional voice or video prompts, privacy settings, and uploaded photos. We also store discovery preferences, passes, Likes, private Crushes, Matches, blocks, and safety reports needed to operate the beta.
If you join or create a Campus Circle, we store Circle membership and role, channels, group messages, replies, reactions, shared images or GIF links, and reports needed to operate and moderate the group.
If you submit a data request, we collect the contact detail needed to find your entry and any optional note you provide.
How we use it
- To manage the waitlist and beta membership.
- To create the profile you control, apply private discovery filters, and show eligible profiles.
- To record passes, Likes, private Crushes, mutual Matches, messages, reactions, read status, and short-lived typing status.
- To operate Campus Circles, channels, memberships, group messages, replies, reactions, and moderation.
- To privately deliver photos or GIFs shared inside matched conversations or joined Circles.
- To set up private audio or video calls between mutual matches.
- To contact you about testing, invitations, safety, and launch updates.
- To prevent duplicate access, abuse, and spam.
- To respond to access, correction, consent-withdrawal, or deletion requests.
Waitlist contact information is not used to create a public profile. One-to-one messages are available only to matched participants. Circle messages are visible to members of that Circle. Messages may be reviewed when necessary to investigate a safety report.
Audio and video calls
Calling is optional and requires browser permission to use your microphone and, for video, your camera. Call media travels directly between participants using encrypted WebRTC connections and Campus Crush does not record or store the audio or video. We temporarily process technical setup data, including call status, session descriptions, network candidates, and timestamps, to connect and operate the call.
Peer-to-peer calling may reveal network information such as an IP address to the other participant or the connection service. Calls may not connect on some restricted networks while the feature is in beta. End the call immediately and use block or report if anything feels unsafe.
Who can see it
Your email, waitlist contact detail, and full date of birth are never displayed on your profile. Only the profile fields you choose may be shown to other admitted beta members, subject to your visibility and discovery settings. Likes are visible to the recipient; a Secret Crush is revealed only when the interest becomes mutual. Protected information is available only to authorized operators and infrastructure providers where necessary to host, secure, or moderate the service. We do not sell personal information.
Profile photos, voice, and video
Profile photos and optional voice or video prompts are stored in protected object storage and delivered only to signed-in beta members. These profile clips are stored media and are different from live calls, which Campus Crush does not record. Do not upload identity documents, intimate content, content involving minors, or any photo, voice, or video you do not have permission to use. Media moderation may be added as the beta expands.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist and beta information only while reasonably needed for early access, service operation, safety, security, or legal obligations. You can remove individual media prompts or permanently delete your beta profile and its uploaded media from your beta account. Waitlist records can be removed after a verified data request.
Your choices
Beta members can edit their profile, add or remove voice and video prompts, hide college, course, or year, pause discovery, unmatch, block or report another member, join or leave Circles, remove their own group messages, and delete their account from the beta profile page. Unmatching removes that conversation and its call setup records. Account deletion removes the member’s profile, photos, voice and video prompts, discovery preferences, interactions, Matches, chat messages and media, Circle memberships and messages, call setup records, blocks, and reports. Circles created by the member may also be removed. For waitlist information, submit the same contact detail you originally used through the data request form. We may contact you to confirm ownership before changing a waitlist record.
Security
We use secure sign-in, restricted admin access, encrypted connections, protected storage, and database controls intended to protect information. No online service can promise perfect security, so avoid sharing sensitive financial, identity, precise location, timetable, or private academic information.
Adults only
Campus Crush is for adults aged 18 and above. If you believe an underage person submitted information, use the data request form and explain the concern.
Changes
We may update this policy as the prototype develops. Important changes will be reflected on this page with a revised date.
